Rooibos Red Organic
Tasting Notes: naturally sweet, slightly nutty, woodsy
Description: Rooibos, also known as the the red-bush plant and pronounced roy-bus, is grown solely in South Africa. This medicinal plant is known for its health benefits.
This naturally no caffeine plant is high in antioxidants and vitamin C. Rooibos has been found to be anti-inflammatory, antioxidant-rich, improve heart health, balance blood sugar, and aid in digestion. There have been many studies of the benefits of rooibos and how it may prevent cancer.
The rooibos plant can be crafted into two different teas: red rooibos and green rooibos. To produce green rooibos, the plant leaves are not oxidized meaning no heat is applied to the plant. This results in a light and herbaceous taste for green rooibos tea. To produce red rooibos tea, the plant leaves are roasted to full oxidization. This makes red rooibos tea a more full-bodied tea with a smooth rounded rich taste. In each sip there are mild notes of roasted nuts, woods, earth, and vanilla.
