Yerba Mate Organic
Tasting Notes: roasted with chicory notes
Description: Yerba Mate is harvested from a holly leaf plant that is indigenous to the Amazon. This plant is known to energize and invigorate you. The traditional roasting techniques are what create the classic yerba mate taste that is coffee-like. This stimulating plant is enjoyed all over South America as a healthy, social, and energizing beverage. It contains more caffeine than coffee yet doesn't leave you with coffee jitters.
The yerba mate plant can be crafted into two different teas: roasted and unroasted. We currently only offer roasted mate on its own however we offer the green vegetal unroasted mate in our Cherry Blossom Green Tea. The traditional roasting method of yerba mate is similar to the roasting techniques of coffee. The taste of roasted mate is bold with rich notes of chicory, toast, and roasted nuts. Slight astringency and bitterness is found just like in coffee.
