Nepal Guranse Estate OP Organic
Tasting Notes: floral, muscatel grape, grass, apricot
Description: Nepali tea is grown in small tea gardens with a commitment to environmental sustainability. Nepali teas are grown 3,000-7,500 feet above sea level in small boutique tea gardens scattered throughout the picturesque foothills of Mount Everest.
This light-bodied black tea has earthy, floral, and fruity notes. You'll find muscatel grape, delicate floral, and apricot stone fruit notes. Subtle hints of grass tease at the finish. A pleasant astringency ties this black tea together with an addictive dry mouth puckering.
The Guranse Estate is one of the finest organic teas estates in Nepal. It is one of highest tea gardens in the world located at an altitude between 4,000 and 7,500 feet above sea level in the foothills of Mount Everest. The pure Himalayan mountain air surrounding the Guranse Estate helps to produce exquisite teas. The high elevation with sunny bright days and cool nights offer the perfect growing conditions to produce Darjeeling-style black teas.
Nepal is a newer tea growing region that is producing world class teas similar to Darjeeling teas. Nepali and Darjeeling teas are similar because of the geographical and topographical similarities of the two countries. These teas are similar in aroma, fruitiness, and unique black tea character. Both Nepali and Darjeeling teas have floral, stone fruit, and muscatel notes with pleasant dry astringency. Nepali teas are increasing in their popularity in the specialty tea industry because they are comparable to Darjeeling teas.
