Ceylon Lumbini Estate OP1
Tasting Notes: robust classic black tea taste with subtle notes of vanilla, cocoa, honey, plum, tobacco
Description: Ceylon teas from this region of Sri Lanka are full-bodied and robust with a thick mouthfeel. Teas such as this low-grown elevation Ceylon tea, that is grown in the Ruhunu region of Sri Lanka, are more bold than high-grown Ceylon teas. This Ceylon Lumbini OP1 (Orange Pekoe Grade 1) is a stunning example of this regional character.
A rich black tea with a rounded mouthfeel and sturdy flavor that stands up well to milk and sugar. A classic tea with subtle notes of vanilla, cocoa, honey, plum, and tobacco. A great selection for those that enjoy a robust cup of black tea. Recommended to those that enjoy our Assam Bukhial, Irish Breakfast, and our signature Classic Black blend.
This full-bodied Orange Pekoe tea is from the family owned Lumbini Estate. The tea garden was started in 1975 by Mr. Dayapala Jayawardana. It is now operated by his son Chaminda. The Lumbini Estate is located in Sri Lanka’s southern Ruhunu district. Growing at elevations up to 2,000 feet above sea level, this tea garden produces some of the most recognized and top awarded-winning Ceylon teas.
