Silver Needle (Bai Hao) Organic
Tasting Notes: light nectar notes
Description: Silver Needle, aka Bai Hao, is the finest of white teas. It is one of the Ten Famous Teas of China. Silver Needle tea is produced from premium tea buds harvested in the early springtime. Made from tender and large new buds that are picked only 2 days a year in early Spring and processed entirely by hand. A premium and exceedingly rare tea that is beloved by tea connoisseurs. The taste is light, soft, and airy on the palate. Subtle notes of honeysuckle, nectar, and white grape notes.
Early in the springtime on the east coast of China, ancient heritage tea bushes in the mountains surrounding Fuding, produce large silver white tea buds. To keep the tea buds in a pure and delicate state, similar to when they are plucked, the tea leaves are sun-dried to minimize any oxidation.
Our Silver Needle produces a pale yellow brew with a clean vegetal aroma, and a distinct flavor, and clean mouthfeel. Delicate lingering notes of nectar, citrus, honey, and hay. Look for the furry down coat on the tea leaves to know you have true Silver Needle.
