Irish Breakfast
Tasting Notes: malty, sturdy, smooth
Description: A sturdy black tea with deep smooth flavor, rich body, and a malty sweetness at the finish. A round mouth-feel and a thick stout body makes this our most full-bodied breakfast blend. Irish Breakfast Tea is an ideal accompaniment to a morning meal.
This robust tea is a blend of BOP (broken orange pekoe) Indian and Kenyan teas. The combination of these two strong teas creates a stout tea that is strong enough to stand up to whole milk, cream, and sugar. The style of small leaf used in this blend offers more surface area of leaf, therefore, a deep and strong brew occurs.
Compared to English and Scottish, Irish Breakfast has a rounder mouth-feel and a thick stout body. It’s rich and mellow at the same time. English Breakfast has a lighter body with a smooth balanced flavor. Scottish Breakfast differs due to its robust and hearty notes of peat, earth, and oak. Comparing all three of our breakfast blends, we suggest Irish as the tea you definitely pair with milk.
